Auto Accidents

Auto accident injuries need to be taken seriously. Whether it's a small fender bender or an accident that totals the entire vehicle, serious injuries can go undiagnosed.

Chiropractic care can help with pain from auto accident injuries

There are many misconceptions and bad beliefs when it comes to auto accident injuries.

1 “Pain after the accident is normal… it will go away over time”

– Pain is a warning sign that damage has occurred. If you are experiencing pain, you need to get checked. You may have ligament damage and an underlying problem in your spine that won’t go away on its own. It is common for symptoms to subside over time but if the root cause isn’t taken care of, early degeneration can set in.

That pain may not go away and it might be too late. Many people wait too long to get checked and then have to pay for the damages out of their own pocket. Some people suffer for 5, 10 or +20 years after the accident before seeking care. Don’t let this be you.

2 “There was no damage to the car so I must be OK too.”

– Collisions at 8.2 mph can cause significant trauma to the spine. With an event like this, there probably won’t be any visible damage to your car but a rear end collision at this speed can translate to 5 G’s of force through your neck and shoulders.

3 “I went to the hospital and they said I was fine.”

– That’s great! We need to rule out fractures and internal bleeding.

Things to Ask Yourself

  • Did they take X-Rays?
  • Did they do a CT scan?
  • Did they do an MRI?

All of the above are extremely important to find any underlying damage in your body. If you were sent home with pain, your next step should be setting up an appointment with a chiropractor. Through a detailed consultation and spinal evaluation, you can rest your head at night knowing that nothing was missed.

Pain resulting from auto accident injuries can be long lasting and debilitating. Don’t just hope the pain goes away. Find out what is really going on and get it corrected now, before it turns into a chronic problem.
